Drea de Matteo: Headed for Desperate Housewives

Drea de Matteo will be joining the cast of the hit ABC dramedy as a recurring character, playing the part of an Italian mother whose family just moved to Wisteria Lane.

FOX ordered a second season of the animated Family Guy spinoff, Cleveland even before the series premieres this fall, reports THR.

Cleveland adds 13 more episodes to its previous order of 22 episodes, to now total 35.

The series, will debut in fall 2009.

Melrose 2.0 gets its first tenants...

The CW has added Katie Cassidy, daughter of '70s heartthrob David Cassidy, to the cast of the remake of Melrose Place. 

Cassidy will play a young and stylish Ella Flynn, publicist. 

Playing opposite Cassidy is Michael Rady (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 & Swingtown, in the role of a filmmaker.

ABC has a new project on the horizon, based on the 2002 Jennifer Lopez film Maid in Manhattan.

Similar to the film, the story is about a Latina from the Bronx who works in the housekeeping department at a high-end midtown hotel, where a guest mistakes her for a socialite and falls for her. 

The television series will focus more on the maid and her colleagues at the hotel, rather than the love affair of the movie.
